THCA is the natural raw form of THC found in the hemp plant. In its raw form, THCA is generally non-euphoric. When heated through smoking, vaping, or cooking, it naturally converts into THC, which creates more noticeable effects. That gives THCA a lot of flexibility, depending on the kind of experience you're looking for.
They come from the same plant but behave very differently. CBD is active as-is and does not create a high. THCA starts out non-euphoric and converts into THC once heat is applied, so the experience changes based on the product and how you use it. A lot of people keep both on hand for different moments.
Because THCA converts to THC with heat, the effects are closer to what people associate with traditional THC than with CBD. Great taste, great experince, no weed taste at all which is nice, but gosh did they mess me up. Will be sticking with the 25mg D8 gummies which are still a lot for me, but nothing like these.
