CBD 101
CBD is one of over 113 active compounds known as cannabinoids that are found in the hemp plant. CBD products are made by extracting cannabinoids from hemp. These cannabinoids are believed to interact with receptors found throughout your body’s endocannabinoid system.
WHAT IS CBD?
What is CBD?
CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring ingredient found in both industrial hemp and cannabis. Our CBD products are only sourced from Hemp. This ensures all of our products are legal, safe and non-psychoactive. CBD affects the Endocannabinoid system (ECS). ECS helps maintain homeostasis in two areas: the firing of brain cells in the nervous system, and the inflammatory response of the immune system. CBD is present in more significant quantities in hemp than marijuana, and because it is non-psychoactive, CBD is widely regarded as the cannabinoid with the most health potential by researchers.
What are the benefits of CBD?
Is CBD the same as Marijuana?
Does CBD get you high?
Will I pass a drug test?
What will it feel like when I take CBD?
The most accurate answer to that question is – it depends. Meaning, it depends on what your body needs. Each body is different, so everybody will have a different response. Since hemp extract with cannabinoids works with the body’s internal Endocannabinoid System to maintain good health, the effect is personalized based on what you have going on internally. That being said, quite a few people mention a feeling of relaxation, while others note that hemp extract helps them feel focused.* The best way to find out how CBD will work for you, is to try it for yourself!
Are there side effects to taking CBD?
CBD is generally well tolerated and considered safe. As with any other supplement, there is a chance that it could cause adverse reactions for some people, and/ or could interact with certain medications. As with any dietary supplement, consult your physician before use if you are pregnant, nursing, have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications.
Are there any contradictions with medication?
Studies of CBD generally reflect a low risk of clinically significant drug interactions. Blue Moon Hemp is not offering medical guidance and we suggest speaking with your healthcare regarding any specific medications.
How much CBD oil should I take?
CBD is biphasic, meaning that in low doses of around 15mg it tends to act as a stimulant, exerting effects such as increased mental alertness and focus. In higher doses, CBD has sedative effects, giving it the potential to help alleviate stress, anxiety, and sleeping problems. Dosing is highly dependent on each individual and if you are new to CBD we recommend starting with a low dose like 10mg once a day and working your way up as needed. Some effects may be acute while others can take up to 30 days.
Can I take too much CBD?
CBD is non-toxic and no fatal overdoses have ever been reported. According to one 2011 study, doses of up to 1,500 mg of CBD per day are well tolerated in humans.
CBD and You
The human body has a vast network of receptors, called the Endocannabinoid System. The purpose of this system is to help our body stay balanced and in good overall health, even when external factors and certain lifestyle choices diminish our wellbeing. CBD and other cannabinoids fit into the receptors of the Endocannabinoid System, helping the body complete its efforts to keep us in good health by supporting many of the body’s physical processes.
